At Water is Basic, we believe South Sudan's water crisis is best solved by those most impacted by it — women. So we're hosting the kind of night Austin was made for — relaxed, fun, and built around good people gathering for something that matters.
Hosted in a big, beautiful West Austin backyard, Austin Piggy Limits is a fundraiser benefiting Water is Basic, bringing together great food, live music, cold drinks, and community for a cause that matters. On October 7th from 6–9 PM in Austin, guests will gather for a whole hog roast, open bar, lawn games, raffle prizes, and live music in a setting that feels unmistakably Texas. It'll be relaxed, fun, and rooted in the kind of community that can create real impact — all to support clean water initiatives in South Sudan through Water is Basic.

About Water is Basic
We aren’t building a non-profit, we’re eliminating the need for one.
Clean Water by 2030
Water is Basic is working to ensure every person in South Sudan has reliable access to clean water by 2030. Instead of drilling new wells and leaving when they break, Water is Basic repairs existing water systems through locally led, women-run well repair businesses. Through the Women’s Well Repair Initiative, women are trained as professional pump mechanics, equipped to run independent businesses, and sent back into their communities to restore and maintain water access long-term.
Sustainable Change
Thousands of wells have been repaired, bringing clean water back to entire villages while creating income, leadership, and long-term stability for the women leading the work. Rather than creating dependence on outside aid, Water is Basic is building a system communities can sustain themselves, with local cooperatives eventually owning and managing the work entirely.
A Nationwide Goal
By 2030, the goal is for 256 women-led teams to maintain every well across all 10 states of South Sudan, making reliable clean water accessible nationwide.
Here's the catch: we aren't selling tickets to this event.
Instead, your entry is your commitment to join us as a Monthly Partner. Why? Because reliable, monthly support is exactly what allows us to proactively order spare parts, train mechanics, and keep the water flowing without delay. A small, ongoing investment in something that is already working and almost finished.
